That brings this thrilling three-match ODI series to a close, with Pakistan etching their name in history by defeating Australia 2-1. It’s a monumental achievement, and skipper Mohammad Rizwan proudly lifts the trophy and hands it over to the youngsters of the side as they pose for photographs - a moment that will be cherished for years to come. It’s been a remarkable month for the Men in Green, having already conquered England in a home Test series and now capping it with an ODI series triumph against Australia on their turf. The cricketing action doesn’t end here, as both teams now shift their focus to the shortest format. A three-match T20I series awaits, starting on Thursday, November 14th, at 8 am GMT from The Gabba in Brisbane. Be sure to join us early for all the pre-match excitement. Until then, goodbye and cheers!

Mohammad Rizwan, the victorious skipper of Pakistan says it is very special for him and they as a team have exceeded expectations and made the country proud. Adds that as a captain he wants to be involved in the game in every aspect and takes advice from everyone. Mentions that it's great to see a complete team performance. Appreciates the bowlers and also mentions the openers and says they gave the team solid starts which set things up for them nicely.

Josh Inglis, Australia's Captain, says that he is pretty disappointed with the team's performance and with the total runs on the board. Adds that every player has a specific role to play and unfortunately for them, they did not click as a whole. Mentions that he would have liked to have more runs on the board to make this match better but they couldn’t do it. Concludes that they weren’t good and up to the expectations.

Haris Rauf is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AND THE SERIES for his 10 wickets across the three games! Rauf says that this series win means a lot to them and every supporter of Pakistan. Adds that they have struggled in the last couple of months and it was very important for them to win here. Mentions that it is great to see the crowd come here and support which gives them that extra motivation. Says that they practised a lot in the nets and the communication between all the bowlers was really good and they used the conditions perfectly. Tells that everyone knows Maxi is a superstar but luck was on his side as he got him out three times in the series.

It's time for the Presentation Ceremony...

Earlier in the game, Pakistan’s pace attack tore through the Australian lineup. Naseem Shah set the tone by dismissing Jake Fraser-McGurk early, and Shaheen Afridi led a relentless charge that saw Australian batters departing in quick succession. Matthew Short displayed some resistance but lacked support, while Sean Abbott’s late cameo of 30 was the top score - a telling sign of Australia’s struggles. Cooper Connolly’s injury added to their woes. Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah took three wickets each, while Haris Rauf got two and Mohammad Hasnain contributed with a key dismissal in a dominant Pakistani performance.

The Pakistan team takes a victory lap, acknowledging the tremendous support from fans here at Perth. It's been a challenging year across formats, but the recent months have marked a turning point for them. This resurgence is something they’ll be determined to carry forward into the future.

Australia had a few opportunities but lapses in the field while defending a modest total were costly. Their pacers managed to occasionally trouble the Pakistani batters with sharp, hard-hit deliveries but struggled with the consistency and precision seen by their counterparts. Lance Morris, however, reignited hopes with a double-wicket over that broke an 84-run opening stand, injecting some energy into the Aussie attack. The bowlers pressed on and built pressure around the chase for a bit, but the composure and experience of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan ultimately guided Pakistan home comfortably with more than 23 overs remaining sealing the game with 8 wickets in hand.

Chasing 141, Pakistan's young openers, Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub, yet again approached the target with poise, ensuring a steady start with no early slip-ups to give Australia any opening. They showed respect for good deliveries while dispatching the loose ones to keep the chase firmly in their control. The hosts' erred by bowling too full at times, offering breathing room and missed their chance to apply early pressure, effectively dampening their hopes of a fightback.

Australia’s batting struggles throughout the series have been a major talking point. Despite fielding a less experienced lineup in this final ODI, the talent and depth were present but fell short against a Pakistan side that adapted to conditions superbly and outclassed them comprehensively. Australia now remains winless in ODIs at this venue.

Pakistan create history! A sensational effort from the Men in Green as they crush the defending world champions to clinch a 2-1 series victory, marking their first ODI series win in Australia in 22 years. This moment will be etched in cricketing history, and Mohammad Rizwan's side will cherish this landmark achievement for a long time to come.
