So that is it from this game. The hosts as expected have taken a 1-0 lead. One more Test to go though and that will be played on December 11, 2020 in Wellington. Join us for that at 1100 local (2200 GMT, PREVIOUS DAY). Till then, goodbye and take care!

Jason Holder, West Indies skipper, says that he is disappointed with his team's batting. Adds that they will look to improve on their batting. Mentions they would look to improve their bowling and would look to work on the areas they need to bowl on. Holder also says that they need to start delivering and understand that they need to fight harder and find a way to bat well. Credits Blackwood and Joseph for batting well and putting up a fight. Informs Dowrich is doubtful for the next Test as he is still complaining about pain. Ends by saying the support staff has been excellent and now they need to come back strong in the next Test.

Kane Williamson, New Zealand skipper, is named the Player of the Match. He starts off by saying that it has been a brilliant victory for them. Adds that his knock was special and crucial for the team. Mentions it was great to spend time in the middle and build some partnerships. Credits Tom Latham for his excellent batting. Williamson says it was a collective effort from their batsmen to post a huge score in the first innings. Adds it was important for their bowlers to be patient and continue to hit the right lengths. Ends by saying it was a really good win but they need to focus on the second Test now.

Blackwood got to his ton. Joseph was eyeing one too. They frustrated the Kiwis. This stand is probably the only positive the Windies could take from this game. However, it was just a matter of one wicket and once the Kiwis got Joseph, they got the other two quickly. A comprehensive win for the hosts.

They were bundled out for 138. The Kiwis enforced the follow-on and it seemed they would get all the 20 wickets on Day 3 itself but then came a fight back. Joseph and Blackwood amassed a 100-plus run stand. They took the game to Day 4.

Windies did start off their innings well as their openers put up a 50-run stand but it all went wrong for them on Day 3. 15 wickets is what they lost.

It was all New Zealand in this game. First they put up a massive first innings total courtesy a double ton by their skipper.

So just over an hour is what it took for the Kiwis to take the remaining three wickets however, it was not before Blackwood scored his ton. Joseph also continued to show fight on Day 4 but once he fell, the other two wickets fell in no time.
