Right then, that’s it from this contest but the action continues in the ILT20, 2024. The Dubai Capitals will take on the Sharjah Warriors at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium tomorrow (January 22nd). That game will start at 8.00 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT). Fazalhaq Farooqi was undoubtedly the star of the bowling innings with exceptional figures of 4 for 25 in his spell while Trent Boult. Dwayne Bravo and Waqar Salamkheil also chipped in with key wickets. Earlier in the game, the MI Emirates posted a terrific score of 179 with Pooran and Tim David slamming quick runs. Gulf Giants had a decent outing with the ball as none of their bowlers did an outstanding job. The MI Emirates have opened their account in the competition while the Gulf Giantshave suffered their first loss. Both teams will want to take learnings from this game and march ahead in the season.

A clinical effort by the MI Emirates sees them beat the Gulf Giants by 18 runs and get their first win of the competition. Chasing 180 for the win, the openers, Vince and Jamie Smith added 48 for the opening wicket and set the base for the chase. The Giants were pegged back with two quick wickets and this affected their scoring rate as well. James Vince kept going and made an important fifty while Jamie Overton with 41 off 18 did give jitters in the MI Emirates dressing room. No other batters could make a significant score as the Giant fell short in the end.
