Rangpur Riders, batting first, began their innings with a positive mindset, capitalizing on the fielding restrictions to accelerate their scoring. Soumya Sarkar and Steven Taylor laid a solid foundation, adding 47 runs for the first wicket inside the first 5 overs. Saif Hassan, at number three, ensured that the momentum was maintained, scoring at a brisk pace. Despite a brief rain interruption, Rangpur Riders batsmen remained focused, losing just one wicket before the innings was eventually truncated to 9 overs. This solid platform enabled the Riders to post a competitive total to defend.

Rangpur Riders bowling unit delivered a clinical performance, setting the tone for their victory. They were virtually flawless in the initial overs, and this precision ultimately made all the difference. Mahedi Hasan was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets in quick succession while conceding a mere 11 runs in his 2 overs. Zak Chappell chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Kamrul Islam accounted for one scalp, as Rangpur Riders bowlers worked in tandem to stifle Lahore Qalandars' chase.

Lahore Qalandars chase got off to a disastrous start, with Rangpur Riders striking early to dismantle the top order. Inside the first three overs, Lahore Qalandars found themselves reeling at 4 for 14, a position from which they never truly recovered. A late flourish from Tom Abell and Mirza Baig, who combined for a rapid 47-run partnership off just 20 deliveries, offered a glimmer of hope. However, once Abell departed, Lahore Qalandars' challenge fizzled out, and it became a mere formality for Rangpur Riders to close out the game.

In a rain-curtailed game but a must-win one, Rangpur Riders have emerged victorious over Lahore Qalandars by 23 runs on DLS.

It is looking like an impossible task for Lahore Qalandars now. 42 needed off the last two and someone needs to play out of their skin to get this in favor of Lahore Qalandars.
