Right then, that's all from a one-sided affair where the Pretoria Capitals breezed past the Joburg Super Kings in a must-win game. With the 5 points earned from this victory, including the bonus point, the Capitals have closed the gap between themselves and the 4th placed Super Kings, who remain on 15 points, while the Capitals are now on 14 points. As things stand, only the Paarl Royals have secured a playoff berth, while Durban's Super Giants are the only team eliminated from the race. Up next in the 2025 SA20 League, 2nd-placed MI Cape Town will host the defending champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, who are currently 3rd in the standings. The first ball will be bowled at 9 pm IST (3.30 pm GMT), but as always, you can join us earlier for the build-up. See you then. Cheers!

The skipper of Pretoria Capitals, Kyle Verreynne says that they had a tough couple of days but he is pleased to get the bonus point. Tells that they were clinical with the ball and it was pleasing to see the way they finished the chase. Mentions that it feels good to return home and he is enjoying the captaincy. Reckons that it is important they play with smiles on their faces and keep the energy going.

Faf du Plessis, the skipper of Joburg Super Kings, says that it has been a frustrating day for them and a lot of things haven’t gone their way. States that there have been games this season where the team batting first has posted a good total on the board but they weren't able to do it in this game. Adds that the ball was spinning because it was a dry surface. Feels if they had reached 160 then they could have made a match out of it. Mentions that the SuperSport Park isn’t a 180 or 190 kind of pitch these days. He thinks that the pitches are different this season than what they used to be. Tells that the energy is still good in the group and they want to win the remaining games.

Migael Pretorius is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his superb showing with the ball. He says it was a good performance and had a lot of changes but he is happy with his own performance. Mentions that he has bowled first time outside the Powerplay and that settled the nerves for him and it all went well. Adds that he tries to simplify things a bit more and tries to hit the top of the off stump which is his stock ball. Further mentions that it is good to keep it simple and also have strategies for different batters but always tries to keep it as simple as possible. Concludes by saying that the wicket of Bairstow was his favourite wicket of the game.

Time for the presentation ceremony...

Earlier, after being inserted into bat, the Joburg Super Kings' innings never really got going. The application from their batters left a lot to be desired and coupled with the discipline shown by the Capitals, it was a tough outing for the Super Kings. Wickets fell at regular intervals, preventing any momentum from building, and they could only manage 99, the lowest total at this venue in the history of the competition. Migael Pretorius stood out with the ball for the Capitals with figures of 3 for 22 from his 4 overs.

With 100 to get, the question was not if the Capitals would get there, but how quickly they would. For the Super Kings, it was about how much pressure they could apply on the Capitals and what positives they could take from a challenging game. Needing to chase down the total within 16 overs for a bonus point, the Capitals showed no shortage of intent. However, Joburg's poor fielding and indifferent bowling only made their task easier.

Pretoria Capitals live to fight another day! With their backs against the wall and needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, coupled with their captain Rilee Rossouw unavailable due to the birth of his child and as many as five changes to the side, the Capitals have risen to the occasion in stunning fashion. On the other hand, the Super Kings seem to be running out of steam at this crucial stage of the competition, having now lost 4 of their last 5 games.

Strategic break! Pretoria Capitals are on course to earn a bonus-point win. Joburg Super Kings haven’t helped their cause with some indifferent fielding and bowling. This has turned out to be a night they’ll want to forget. On the other hand, for the Capitals, this has been exactly the kind of performance they were hoping for in a must-win game.
