Right then, that is it from this one-sided affair where Chittagong Kings brushed aside Durbar Rajshahi with ease. There is a day off in the Bangladesh Premier League and we will be back with a double header on 22nd January, Wednesday. First, it will be the Dhaka Capitals taking on the Chittagong Kings at 12.30 pm IST (7 am GMT). Then Fortune Barishal goes up against Khulna Tigers at 6 pm IST (12.30 pm GMT), but as you know, you can join us early for all the build-up to both matches.

Mohammad Mithun, the victorious skipper of Chittagong Kings says that this is a very important win for them. Adds that they were not at their best in the last couple of games, but they brought their A game in this one. Mentions that his job as a captain is to be active all the time and keep motivating his players while as a batter he tries to inject momentum in the middle order. Ends by saying that he just tries to contribute in whatever way he can.

Naeem Islam is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his all-round brilliance. He says that he is very happy with his performance. Adds that he is very grateful to the coach, captain, and management for showing faith in him and getting him in the team. Mentions that they know that they have a short batting line up and they try to play according to the situation. Ends by saying that hopefully he can continue to contribute to the team's success.

Taskin Ahmed, the captain of Durbar Rajshahi says that it started pretty well but didn't end up well for us. Mentions that the fielding didn't go well either and we lost our batter as well. So all in all a pretty bad day for us. Adds that we are still in the tournament and there are 3 more games to go and if we can manage to win two and up the run rate, there is a chance for us. Further mentions that this is indeed a big loss. Adds that we went close to 200 last night but this was overall a bad day. Concludes by saying that they will come back harder next time!

Presentation Time...

While defending, Chittagong Kings were clinical right from the first ball despite a couple of sitters. Binura Fernando and Arafat Sunny struck early with the new ball, and Shoriful Islam was outstanding in the middle overs. Naeem Islam, fresh off his impressive fifty, contributed with the ball as well, picking up a couple of wickets to cap off a comprehensive victory.

Earlier in the game, Chittagong Kings set a commanding total, thanks to a brilliant half-century from Naeem Islam on his return to the lineup. Graham Clark and the lower middle order chipped in with some quick runs to keep the momentum going. For Durbar Rajshahi, Taskin Ahmed and Sunzamul Islam stood out with the ball, but the rest of the attack proved expensive and dropped catches did not help as well.

Getting bowled out for just 80 runs leaves little to discuss about the batting effort of Durbar Rajshahi. Only Anamul Haque and Akbar Ali managed to reach double figures, while the rest of the lineup faltered. The absence of Ryan Burl, one of their standout performers this tournament, due to injury while fielding, further compounded their struggles. With a significant dent in their NRR, they’ll need to regroup and bounce back stronger in the upcoming games.

Chittagong Kings delivered a commanding performance, crushing Durbar Rajshahi by a staggering 111 runs - the third-largest victory in terms of margin in BPL history! Despite a change in captaincy, Rajshahi's hopes for a turnaround were dashed as they endured a humbling defeat.
