Right then, that is all we have from this game. On Saturday, 31st of December we have a double dose of action for everyone. First up, Sydney Thunder will take on Hobart Hurricanes and that game will start at 10 am IST (4.30 am GMT). In the second game, we will have Adelaide Strike going up against Melbourne Stars and it will start at 1.30 pm IST (8 am GMT). Do join us early for the build-up of both these games. Cheers!

Chris Jordan is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his two wickets for 25 runs in his four overs.

Melbourne Renegades, well they were below par with the bat again. Their bowlers did well to keep them in the game till the backend of this game but the total they put on the board was just not good enough. Shaun Marsh was the highest run-scorer with the bat for them but no one really was able to put their foot on the accelerator and that cost them the game. With the ball, Will Sutherland got an early wicket and then the duo of Akeal Hosein and Mujeeb Ur Rahman bowled well in the middle overs to keep the scoring rate under check. Akeal Hosein got two wickets too but it was not enough in the end against a strong batting line-up of Sixers.

Sydney Sixers made life easy for themselves with a brilliant bowling performance in the first half of their game as they managed to reduce Melbourne Renegades to a below-par score. It was a combined effort with the ball with all five bowlers doing their job while with the bat, the second-wicket partnership of 60 runs between Kurtis and Vince did the bulk of the work. Both of them got out in their 30s but with such a low total to chase they were never in any serious trouble and chased down the target with 13 balls to spare and six wickets in hand.

A comfortable win for Sydney Sixers and they have notched up their fourth consecutive win now. They are getting better and better with each passing game while Melbourne Renegades who were off to a flier in this season have lost three in a row now.
