That's it from this game then! England take an unassailable 2-0 lead into the 3 match ODI series. The sides will meet again on Sunday 4th July 2021 at 1100 local (1000 GMT) where either England will whitewash them or Sri Lanka will get a consolation win. Do join us then. Till then, adios and take care!

Sam Curran, the MAN OF THE MATCH, says that it is special to play in front of the fans and it was cool to get the win. Tells that the ball swung which was nice to see. Goes onto say that he feels that he has played a lot of cricket and he is learning every game and he is lucky to be going on all around the world and getting the experience. States that Tom bowled well and he is pleased for him.

Eoin Morgan, the England skipper, says that it is good that he scored some runs and contributed to a series win. Adds that their bowlers set up the win. Tells that the pitch got slower and they needed to settle. Goes onto say that Bairstow and Roy played well while Root was brilliant as always. Goes onto say that there are some nice distractions as a captain and he does not have to think of his batting for a while but it was nice to spend some time in the middle. Tells that they might make some changes for the final game and they have an eye on the Pakistan series as well. States that it is nice to have Billings and Moeen back in the side.

Kusal Perera, the Sri Lankan skipper, says the top order did not work. Adds that Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga played really well. Tells that there are some positives and they need to be consistent. Goes onto say that they want to finish on a winning note.

Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka was asked to bat and were put in deep trouble losing 4 wickets for 21. Dhananjaya de Silva's 91 and Shanaka's 47 helped the side to put on a modest 241. England's bowling was superb as Sam Curran's 5-fer and David Willey's 4-wicket haul helped England restrict the visitors. Overall, it was a comfortable win for England. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony!!!

Sri Lankan bowlers started poorly at the start as none of the bowlers managed to build pressure and keep England on the back foot baring Chameera. Once Wanindu Hasaranga was introduced, runs started to dry out and he scalped the wicket of Jonny Bairstow. Chamika Karunaratne was successful in getting the wicket of dangerous Jason Roy. After that, the bowlers couldn't do much as the target was a piece of cake for the England batters and they won with 42 balls to spare.

England did not have to break a sweat as Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy set the platform for England as they started really well. Roy played more of the aggressor and later Bairstow joined him too. They stitched a 72-run partnership before Bairstow departed. Roy continued to attack and brought up his fifty as well but got out soon playing a rather loose shot. After that Morgan and Root continued their dominance on the pitch. While Root played his masterclass, Morgan came back to form with a fine 75. Their partnership saw them cruise through the victory line without any trouble and take the series home.

A convincing win for England! They have chased down 242 easily and they have taken the series 2-0 with one game to spare. Excellent performance. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have had a tough series and they have only pride to play for on Sunday.
