Just when it looked like the hosts had gained control, Jaker Ali took charge. A dramatic run-out incident involving Shamim Hossain and Jaker saw the latter storm off the field before the third umpire intervened, correctly adjudging Shamim out. After his return, Jaker was unstoppable, blasting a brilliant 41-ball 72, which helped Bangladesh finish with 189. For West Indies, Roston Chase was the most economical, conceding just 15 runs from his 4 overs while also picking up a wicket. With 190 never having been chased before in T20Is at Arnos Vale Ground, West Indies were up against history. They were rocked early in the Powerplay, losing three of their top four batters.
