The third edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) is likely to take place between February 6 and March 9, 2025, according to a report on Cricbuzz. The franchises were made aware of this window during the WPL auction, which was held in Bengaluru on December 15.
Like the first two seasons, the third season will also feature 22 games. The BCCI had initially considered including a sixth team for this edition, but they have put a stop to that idea for now. The venue for the third edition is yet to be finalised. The first season was held in Mumbai, while Delhi and Bengaluru shared the matches for the second edition.
The report adds that Mumbai and Bengaluru are out of contention to host the matches. Delhi, on the other hand, may not get the opportunity this time around, given the cold weather. This makes Lucknow and Ahmedabad the potential options.
The decision on the venue will be take in the coming days. The Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 14, about 5-7 days after the conclusion of the WPL.
