WATCH: Vijay Shankar’s ‘SCREAMER’ Sends Hasaranga Packing Early

On his return in the yellow jersey, Shankar pulled off a miraculous catch in deep midwicket region

In his first appearance for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after 123 matches, Vijay Shankar pulled off a sizzling catch in the deep midwicket region against Rajasthan Royals on March 30 (Sunday).

The Tamil Nadu all-rounder, who replaced Deepak Hooda in the setup, was stationed in the deep mid-wicket region for the left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja, bowling his second over, deceived the Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, with the right-hander trying to take him for half a dozen.

While Hasaranga would have hoped that the ball would land short of the fielder, Shankar, the Tamil Nadu man, ran at full speed and jumped right in front of the landing ball to pull off a screamer. CSK would be pleased by his fielding display after a disastrous outing in the previous clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

It was Shankar’s first bit of action on his comeback.
