WATCH: Slowest Ball In IPL History? Buttler faces Comical Delivery From Raju
S Raju bowled a slower bouncer that pitched almost at his own feet and Buttler had to wait an eternity for it
A rather comical instance occurred in the ongoing league stage game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
On the second ball of 13th over, rookie pacer S Raju bowled a slower bouncer that pitched almost at his own feet and the batter Jos Buttler had to wait an eternity for it.
Buttler almost attempted two different shots while he waited for the ball to come to him, and when it eventually arrived, he swatted it towards deep square leg for a four. It almost went for a six and fell just a few inches before the boundary cushion.
Raju, who hadn’t even played 15 matches at the senior level of competitive cricket when MI picked him in the auction for ₹30 Lakh, made his Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy debut for Andhra Pradesh this year.
Prior to that, he had also played in the Andhra Premier League. He has played eight first-class games for his domestic side. He made his IPL debut in the first game this season against Chennai.
Meanwhile, Buttler played a decent hand for GT and eventually scored 39 off 24 deliveries with the help of four fours and a solitary six.
