WATCH: Relive Jeffrey Vandersay's 6/33 that destroyed India in 2nd ODI

The leg-spinner proved to be the difference in the game, allowing Sri Lanka to go 1-0 up in the three-match series

Brought into the side in place of the injured Wanindu Hasarnga, leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay (6/33) picked up six wickets against India in the second One-Day International (ODI) to help his side to a comfortable 32-run victory. With this win, Sri Lanka went 1-0 up in the series after the first ODI ended in a tie

In pursuit of 241, India started off brightly, with openers Rohit Sharma (64) and Shubman Gill (35) putting up 97 for the first wicket. After Rohit fell, the rest of the batting fell like a pack of cards, with Axar Patel (44) being the only other batter to make a significant contribution.

Sri Lanka surrendered meekly in the T20 International (T20I) series ahead of the ODI series, allowing India to complete a 3-0 whitewash. The two sides will clash in the final ODI of the series on Wednesday (August 7) at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Sri Lanka have not won a bilateral ODI series against India since 1997. India, on the other hand, have been unbeaten in their 10 previous series against their neighbours.
