Follow UsAyush Bandoni starred for the South Delhi Superstarz as they defeated the West Delhi Lions in Match 13 of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024. Skipper Badoni was on fire with both bat and ball in the game held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday (August 25) as his team won by 59 runs and moved to the second spot in the points table.
Chasing the target of 229 to win was always going to be a tough ask for the West Delhi side. They managed to put together a decent opening stand of 76 runs, but once that was broken, the wickets fell in regular intervals under the pressure of mounting strike rate. The team was eventually bowled out for 159 in 17.4 overs with Ankit Kumar (47) top-scoring.
For the Superstarz, Badoni, Shubham Dubey, Kuldeep Yadav and Digvesh Rathi picked two wickets each.
Earlier, after being asked to bat first, South Delhi got off to a flyer thanks to Priyansh Arya (45) and Sarthak Ray (22) adding 52 in just 4.3 overs. Badoni then joined the show and smashed 57 off just 28 balls. Tejasvi Dahiya with his 23-ball 57 propelled the Superstarz past 200.
