Watch: Rishabh Pant rolls his arm as South Delhi Superstarz beat Purani Dilli 6

On August 17 (Saturday), the first match of the Delhi Premier League lived up to its billing. It was a clash of two superstar sides as Purani Dill 6 took on South Delhi Superstarz, and Ayush Badoni starred with a 29-ball 57 to take his team (South Delhi) home. 

Earlier in the day, the Rishabh Pant-led Dilli side put on a show with the bat, with opener Arpit Rana’s 41-ball 59 getting them off to a good start. The duo of Lalit Yadav (21-ball 34) and Vansh Bedi (19-ball 47) took them to 197/3, a score that seemed more than enough. 

However, Priyansh Arya (30-ball 57) and Sarthak Ray (26-ball 41) got the Superstarz off to a brilliant start in the run-chase, scoring 87 runs within seven overs. Badoni’s 29-ball 57 propelled them further, but he lost his wicket at the most unfortunate moment for the chasing team. 

In the end, however, Vision Panchal took them home with a 7-ball 13 cameo, with Rishabh Pant even rolling his arm, bowling gentle leg-spinners, catching the attention of several people on the social media platform, 'X'.
