Follow UsSri Lanka were well on course to register a consolation victory in the third T20 International (T20I) against India in Pallekele on Tuesday (July 30), but skipper Suryakumar Yadav brought himself and another part-timer Rinku Singh on to bowl the final two overs of the match to push the match into a Super Over. India broke very little sweat in wrapping up the game as Washington Sundar kept the hosts down to just three, and Surya took just one ball to finish things off in the Super Over.
It was a similar story for Sri Lanka, whose batting collapsed and, despite being in an excellent position, as they were in the first two games, could not get the job done. The two teams will not turn their attention to the One-Day International (ODI) series, which will get underway from August 2 onwards in Colombo.
