Aneeshwar Gautam was the hero for the Hubli Tigers as they beat Mangalore Dragons in match 23 of the Maharaja Trophy 2024 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday (August 26).
After being asked to bat first, the Tigers lost two quick wickets of the openers Mohammed Taha and Karthikeya KP in the first 2.1 overs. However, Gautam decided to play his best knock of the tournament, scoring an unbeaten 95 off just 58 balls to take his team to 209/3.
Chasing the target, the Dragons tried hard but just couldn’t get one player to play throughout the innings. Skipper Shreyas Gopal top-scored with 38, but the team lost the game by 42 runs to virtually get out of the race for Playoffs.
