WATCH: Dhull fifty not enough as Priyansh Arya’s brilliance downs Central Delhi

Yash Dhull’s extremely tough captaincy start in Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024 continued on August 20 (Tuesday) as Central Delhi Kings slipped to their third consecutive defeat of the season. They were beaten comprehensively by South Delhi Superstarz, who chased down 177 with five balls to spare.

Skipper Dhull tried his best with the bat in hand as he posted his first fifty of the season (52 off 44). On the night, Dhull also opened the batting for the first time in the season. Fifties from himself and Dhruv Kaushik (56 off 34) and a cameo from Harish Dagar (23 off 10) helped Central Delhi get to 176/7.

But they were downed by a sensational knock from 23-year-old opener Priyansh Arya, who hammered 82 off just 51 balls to take South Delhi home. Arya, on the night, shared a match-winning 101-run stand with skipper Ayush Badoni (42 off 36).

South Delhi are now second on the points table with two wins in two; Central Delhi are bottom with three losses in three.
