Royal Challengers Bangalore recorded an 18-run win against Lucknow Super Giants in a low-scoring thriller at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Monday, May 1.
While the game was played in pretty high spirit by the players of both camps, things got heated up once the match ended as Virat Kohli was involved in a heated exchange with Gautam Gambhir.
The duo have a history of altercations, with the most famous one dated almost a decade ago when Kohli was dismissed against Kolkata Knight Riders in Bangalore.
The 34-year-old, who has been a vital cog in the batting unit of the Royal Challengers, and Gambhir, the Mentor of the Super Giants, were seen going aggressively at one another before the players stepped in to separate the duo.
They have been fined 100 percent of their match fees by the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct.
Along with them, Naveen-ul-Haq, who also exchanged a few words with Kohli on the field and during the customary handshake has been fined 50 percent of his match fees for breaching the Code of Conduct.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are now on fifth position in the points table and will need to win three out of their five remaining games to be in contention for the playoffs.
