Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 13-year-old cricket prodigy continues to ride the high after his dream Indian Premier League signing in the mega auction 2025. The left-handed batter hit a 36-ball 67 against Sri Lanka U-19 in the semi-final of the Asia Cup U-19 tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah on December 6 (Friday).
Thanks to his knock, India managed to chase down the target of 174 with more than 28 overs to play.
In his knock of 67, the southpaw smashed six fours and five sixes and looked flawless until Praveen Maneesha eventually bowled him. When Suryavanshi got out, India needed 42 more runs and the left-hander was eyeing a century.
Earlier, Suryavanshi, who was bought for INR 1.1 crore by the Rajasthan Royals at the IPL auction, hit an unbeaten 76 against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after failing in the first two matches of the tournament where he scored 1 and 23 against Pakistan and Japan.
With this win, India will now take on Bangladesh in the final of the event who beat Pakistan in the other semi-final by seven wickets. The final will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on December 8 (Sunday).
