Unsold in IPL 2025 auction, This India Player Will Play Club Cricket In England
He has played seven Tests for India since making his debut in 2023
India wicketkeeper Srikar Bharat is set to play for Dulwich Cricket Club in their Surrey Championship 2025 campaign. Dulwich are fresh off a promotion to the Premier Division and have signed up Bharat to make an immediate impact for them.
The wicketkeeper-batter went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction and turned to this opportunity in England as a result. He has previously represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC).
The 31-year-old has played seven Tests for India, the last of which came against England in 2024. He also featured in the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia in 2023.
Bharat caught the eye of the selectors first when he became the first wicketkeeper to score a triple century in the Ranji Trophy. Overall, he has played 105 first-class matches and slammed 10 tons and 32 fifties. However, his test career has not panned out as he would have hoped to. He scored just 331 runs in 12 innings with a highest score of 44.
Rishabh Pant's return from his horrific accident and the emergence of Dhruv Jurel have further pushed Bharat down the pecking order.
