Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the Proteas Women’s squad for their historic one-off Test against England, scheduled to take place at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein from 15 - 18 December. The 15-player squad features one change from the group currently competing in the three ODI series, which is part of the ICC Women’s Championship One-Day International series.
Tumi Sekhukhune has replaced Ayabonga Khaka in the Proteas women's squad, who's not part of the red ball setup. Meanwhile, the squad also welcomed back the Test-capped trio of Lara Goodall, Ayanda Hlubi, and Chloé Tryon, who were not part of the team for the previous Test against India earlier this year.
England women have been on a tour to South Africa beginning December 24, when the first T20I was played. England went on to win all three T20Is comfortably, with Danni Wyatt-Hodge scoring 146 runs in just three innings and Charlie Dean picking up six wickets.
However, the Proteas women made a resounding comeback in the first ODI, as Marizanne Kapp (3/24) and Annerie Dercksen (3/16) bowled brilliantly to restrict England to just 186. After losing that game by six wickets, England were back in the second ODI as Dean picked up 4/45, and the visitors won the game by six wickets.
The third ODI will be held on December 11, just four days before the one-off Test begins.
