Sayali Satghare replaces concussed Hemalatha

On the fifth ball of the fourteenth over, Gujarat Giants allrounder Dayalan Hemalatha was hit on the forehead, attempting a catch. 

Kathryn Bryce bowled it full and on the pads of Jess Jonassen, who whipped the delivery straight to Hemalatha in the deep. Hemalatha lost the ball in the lights and was hit straight on her face. She was immediately taken outside the boundary rope as the physio tended to her. 

The official X account of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) posted an update stating, "Based on the assessment of the Players’ Team Medical Personnel, the Match Refree has permitted a concussion substitute.”

Sayali Satghare, the allrounder from Maharashtra, who came into the Gujarat squad as an injury replacement for Kashvee Gautam, was announced as the concussion substitute. Meanwhile, further details on Hemalatha's injury are awaited.
