SA20’s season 3 will begin with the two-time champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape taking on MI Cape Town in a home fixture at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The tournament begins on January 9 with the final scheduled to take place on February 8 at Johannesburg's Wanderers Stadium.
The Wanderers hosted the final in the inaugural season in 2023 after which the second season’s final took place at the Newlands in Cape Town. The Wanderers has a bigger seating capacity than Newlands which could be one of the reasons behind the switch back to the Johannesburg-based venue.
The SuperSport Park in Centurion is awarded the eliminator and the second qualifier on consecutive days, making it the first time in the tournament's short history that Centurion will host a playoff game.

"We're thrilled to start the season in Gqeberha with our defending champions and look forward to an action-packed summer of cricket. As we welcome international talent to the roaring pool of local stars, we aim to deliver an unforgettable experience for both players and fans alike," Graeme Smith, SA20 league commissioner said in a statement.
The league stage will consist of 30 matches and will be followed by the four playoff games, in a format similar to the last two seasons. The Sunrisers won both those editions and will be eyeing a hat-trick of the SA20 title.
The player auction ahead of the third season of the SA20 will take place in Cape Town on October 1 with a total of 13 slots left to be filled.
