Rashid Khan Leaves Jasprit Bumrah Behind To Set IPL Record

With the wicket of Priyansh Arya, Rashid Khan became the 12th player to pick up 150 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He got to the landmark in 122 innings, which is faster than Jasprit Bumrah (124) and Dwayne Bravo (134). He achieved this feat in Gujarat Titans' (GT) season opener against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Ahmedabad on March 25 (Tuesday).

Only Yuzvendra Chahal (117) and Lasith Malinga (105) have got to the landmark faster than the Afghanistan leg-spinner. 

Rashid made his IPL debut in 2017 when Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) picked him. He moved to GT in 2022 and won the title in his very first season. In fact, Rashid had his best IPL season in 2023, when he picked up 27 scalps at an economy rate of 8.23, as GT lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final.

Rashid is also the leading wicket-taker in T20s, with 635 scalps at an economy rate of well under seven.
