Ahead of the 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL) player auctions, Gujarat Giants have announced Pravin Tambe and Daniel Marsh as their bowling and batting coaches, respectively. Meanwhile, Michael Klinger, who joined the team last season, will continue as their head coach.
The announcement comes a day after Mithali Raj and Nooshin Al Khadeer stepped down from their posts as mentor and bowling coach, respectively.
Marsh served as head coach of the Tasmania Men’s team from 2013 to 2017 and was appointed assistant coach of the Australian Women’s team in 2022.
“I’m excited to be joining Gujarat Giants. I look forward to developing a fearless approach to our batting with the aim of making our team one of the strongest batting units of the WPL,” said Marsh.
Tambe, who made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut at the age of 41, has worked with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
“Joining Gujarat Giants as the Bowling Coach is an exciting new chapter in my cricketing journey. I’m eager to work with this talented group of players to sharpen their skills and help them excel,” said Tambe.
In the first two seasons of the WPL, the Giants finished at the bottom of the points table.
The franchise let go of Sneh Rana, Kathryn Bryce, Trisha Poojitha, Veda Krishnamurthy, Tarannum Pathan, Lea Tahuhu and will enter the auction, scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on December 15 (Sunday), with the maximum purse of INR 4.4 crore.
