No Kohli and Rohit in Duleep Trophy; Gill, Jadeja & others picked

Along With Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin have also been rested for the upcoming tournament beginning in Anantapur

The Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) announced four different squads for the Duleep Trophy 2024 on August 14 (Wednesday). Star batter Virat Kohli, India skipper Rohit Sharma, veteran Ravichandran Ashwin and speedster Jasprit Bumrah are the four big names missing from the tournament.

Duleep Trophy 2024 marks the beginning of red-ball cricket in the domestic season in India and it will see all the other big names featuring, with Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Ruturaj Gaikwad leading the four sides.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj and Suryakumar Yadav all feature, as will Ishan Kishan, who currently does not hold a central contract.

Mohammed Shami, who is still recovering from an ankle injury, has not been picked.

Curiously, despite four different teams featuring, there is no place for both Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. Umesh Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha and Ishant Sharma are the other veterans who have not been picked in either squad.
