Mumbai Indians, on December 13 (Friday), appointed Carl Hopkinson as their new fielding coach ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025.
The 43-year-old replaces James Pamment, who served as Mumbai’s fielding coach for seven years and won two titles with the franchise in 2019 and 2020.
"We would like to thank him and wish him all the best for his future endeavors,” the five-time IPL winners stated in the press release.
Hopkinson was the fielding coach of the England men’s cricket team for the past seven years. He was part of the England set-up that won the 2019 ODI World Cup and the 2022 T20 World Cup.
He was also England Under-19’s fielding coach for the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022, where they finished as the runners-up.
Hopkinson played 64 first-class, 92 List A and 28 T20s for Sussex, scoring 4270 runs across three formats. He scored four centuries and 21 fifties during his career.
