Windies need 280 runs, PAK 9 wickets

West Indies have done well to ensure that they do not lose more than a wicket on Day Four. They have 280 runs more to get on the final day to win the Test and Pakistan, on the other hand, need nine more wickets to level the series 1-1.

West Indies began Day Four on 39 for 3 and could manage just 150 in the end, handing Pakistan a lead of 152. Shaheen Afridi was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers, finishing with a career-best 6 for 51. However, he could not do much with the ball in the second innings, but his direct hit has brought about Pakistan's only wicket in the second innings so far.

It was a sporting declaration in the second innings from Pakistan after they scored 176 for 6 in a little over 27 overs to set West Indies 329. Babar Azam will hope that the move does not backfire.

With 98 overs left in the series, West Indies still have an outside chance, but it will be Pakistan who will be forcing the issue to eck out a victory. Which way will the match swing on the final day? Join us tomorrow to find out.

Till then, it's goodbye!

Breakthrough for PAK

Some luck for Pakistan as Kieran Powell has been run out for 23 after he failed to ground his bat, while looking to complete the third run. It was a direct hit from Shaheen Afridi that did the damage. The openers Powell and Kraigg Brathwaite out on 34 for the first wicket and looked as though they had gotten their eye in, Alzarri Joseph has walked in as the nightwatchman for the second day in a row.

Can West Indies go to stumps without any further damage?

WI openers steady

West Indies openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Kieran Powell have negotiated the initial stages of the chase extremely well. Pakistan have tried three fast bowlers so far, but have not managed to get any breakthrough as yet. there's plenty of time today. After a poor day on the field today, West Indies will be happy that this little phase of play has gone in their favour.

Windies underway

West Indies get their chase underway knowing that they have 130 overs to reach their target of 329. Time is not an issue for them, but they will have to bat way better than they did in the first innings to have a chance. For now, their first target will be to bat out the rest of the day with minimum damage.

PAK have declared

Pakistan have declared. They have set West Indies a target of 329. West Indies have 32 overs to negotiate today, plus 98 more overs tomorrow. This is a sporting declaration from Pakistan, who have to win this match to draw level in the two-match series. Pakistan were right on the attack from the beginning, with their openers putting on 70 within 10 overs. The rest of the batsmen kept the momentum going and it is now the responsibility of their bowlers to deliver.

Pakistan will back themselves to pick up 3-4 wickets before stumps today after bowling West Indies out for just 150 in the first innings.

PAK's lead goes past 300

Pakistan have continued batting aggressively and that he helped them go past a lead of 300 in quick time. There was some relief for West Indies when Hasan Ali was dismissed for 17, but Pakistan still have Babar Azam at the crease and he has been joined by Faheem Ashraf, who can also hit the ball quite a distance. What could be the target Pakistan have in mind? We'll find out soon.

PAK on the attack

In a surprising move, Hasan Ali has walked in at No. 5 ahead of Fawad Alam, who scored an unbeaten 124 in the first innings. Hasan has already tonked a couple of big ones and there could be a few more if he is not stopped. Pakistan's lead is nearing the 300-run mark. Things are not looking good for West Indies here, who are in desperate need of a couple of quick wickets.

PAK in command at tea

Pakistan go to tea with a comfortable lead of 259 with seven wickets in hand. They lost Azhar Ali just at the stroke of tea, poorly timing a sweep from Kraigg Braithwaite straight into the hands of the short fine-leg fielder. Yet another excellent session for Pakistan, who are now dictating terms in this match.

WI strike at last!

A wicket at last for West Indies as Alzarri Joseph gets rid of Abid Ali for a quick-fire 29. Abid put on 70 off just 57 deliveries for the first wicket to take Pakistan's lead well pas 200. Butt too was dismissed slowly after that, thanks to a brilliant catch at point by Nkrumah Bonner. Azhar Ali will look to calm things down along with Babar Azam and the Windies might see Pakistan's aggressive approach as a window of opportunity to claw their way back into the game.

50 up in no time

Pakistan bring up 50 in no time. The openers had made their intentions very clear early on and have continued with the same mindset throughout. The lead has gone past 200 and with 10 wickets in hand, West Indies could be chasing a significantly huge target in this match. However, a quick wicket or two could change all that

PAK off to flying start

Pakistan have made a brisk start with openers Abid Ali and Imran Butt punishing anything loose. West Indies bowlers too have strayed in line, often driving down the leg stump. This is a terrific start for Pakistan after they bowled West Indies out for 150.

ALL OUT!

Shaheen Afridi registers his best bowling figures in Tests, finishing with 6 for 51. Pakistan took very little time to bowl West Indies out in the second session. Pakistan have a massive 152-run lead and will look to add a substantial amount of runs before stumps today. West Indies have their task cut out and will have to bowl and bat out of their skins to get something out of this game.

WI positive after tea

Jason Hoder starts off the second session with two exquisite boundaries of Mohammad Abbas, making his intentions very clear. West Indies still have a mountain to climb after a poor first session. Every run from here is going to be crucial for them. Pakistan, on the other hand, will be itching to bowl West Indies out at the earliest and bat again.

PAK on top

Mohammad Abbas has been on the money today and has been rewarded with three wickets already. His latest victim was Joshua da Silva, who he trapped leg-before for six, a ball after the decision against him was overturned. This session has completely belonged to Pakistan, who have picked up five wickets in it. They are on the verge of registering a huge first-inning lead, unless Jason Holder and Kemar Roach do something about it.

The hosts still trail by 179 runs with just two more wickets in hand. Pakistan will look to bowl the West Indies out early in the second session and look to set them a huge target. This session has completely turned the match in Pakistan's favour.

Two in two for Abbas

After toiling hard, Mohammad Abbas finally has a couple of wickets. He first broke the 60-run stand between Bonner and Blackwood when the former edged one to the 'keeper for a patient 37. Abbas then got the wicket of Kyle Mayers for a golden duck. Mayers now has three ducks in a row. If that was not good enough, Blackwood edged a short ball to gully for 33 with Fawad Alam taking a brilliant catch.

Pakistan have bounced back extremely well after a frustrating partnership. Can they bow West Indies out this session?

Fifty partnership

Nkrumah Bonner and Jermaine Blackwood have brought up their fifty partnership for the fifth wicket. This has been a crucial partnership for West Indies, who looked to be in a spot of bother after being reduced to 45 for 4. Pakistan have been unable to break this stand despite creating a few chances. However, the pitch is looking good for batting and if these two are set, they could very well go on to get a big score.

Bonner, Blackwood take charge

The partnership between Nkrumah Bonner and Jermaine Blackwood has been a fruitful one for West Indies so far and is frustrating the Pakistan bowlers. Both batsmen look set and in good touch, although they have scored a few streaky boundaries between slip and gully, but they'll take it nevertheless.

West Indies remain on back foot

After losing an early wicket, West Indies batsmen have absorbed the pressure quite well. Pakistan fast bowlers have been on the money throughout and will hope that their persistence will fetch them a wicket or two soon. We have not seen spin so far, but Nauman Ali will come into play at some point today.

Pakistan draw first blood

Shaheen Shah draws first blood. Nightwatchman Alzarri Joseph edges one to slip and Babar Azam takes an excellent low catch. Jermaine Blackwood is the new batsman and he joins Nkrumah Bonner, who has played over 50 deliveries. This is just the sort Pakistan would have wanted. They would look to add a few more to their tally in the next hour or so. West Indies continue to remain on the back foot.

West Indies up and running

It's bright and sunny in Kingston and Pakistan have started off with Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Abbas. Nightwatchman Alzarri Joseph, who is no mug with the bat starts off with a glorious cover drive off Afridi to start this off for West Indies on Day Four. It promises to be an exciting day of Test cricket.
