WI VS PAK

See-ya!
It is really frustrating when a game of cricket between two excellent outfits has to be called off due to rain. But the downpour was so heavy that the groundsmen could only do so much. We shall be back for the fourth and final T20I of the series on Tuesday. You can also follow Australia's series against Bangladesh on our platform apart from some solidly-researched data and analytical copies on India's tour of England. GAME ABANDONED!
Not good news here, folks! Players have shaken hands now.
After an animated discussion involving both captains and coaches and the match officials, the umpires have decided to call off the game. The game has been abandoned with a match to spare. Pakistan are leading the series at the moment.

Fingers Crossed!
Not sure of anything as of now... The covers are off and players are checking on the ground in their individual capacity. We are yet to hear anything from the match officials. If the game can't start at 11:54 PM IST, it will have to be called off. Be hopeful at your own peril.
Wait. The umpires are now having a long conversation with Kieron Pollard and Babar Azam. Misbah-Ul-Haq is also there.

Promising sign!
As of now, rain has stopped completely and groundsmen are putting in their best effort to make it ready for the game. The cut-off time has been set at 2:22 PM in Guyana (11:54 PM IST). We have more than 75 minutes for a five-over contest to take place in Guyana. We can only hope for the best!

Update!
By the way, we've started to losing overs.
However, there is no update on the inspection yet. From the looks of it, it seems like the groundsmen are working on the outfield. There have already been a lot of puddles on the ground and making it ready for a match will take a lot of effort.

Not looking good!
Samuel Badree, who is at the ground now, shared some live pictures. From the looks of it, it seems like groundsmen have a long day awaiting. Will we have a game? I am not sure but this looks very unlikely.

Nothing positive to add!
We are yet to get any live picture from the official broadcaster which indicates that we are far from any positive outcome. The wait continues. We still haven't in the zone but in a few minutes, we will start losing overs. Not an ideal sign of course.
Meanwhile, you can read some of the interesting content that we have put up ahead of the India-England series.

And it starts to rain!
Fletcher hit the second ball of the second over straight over long-off for a six. But before anyone could figure it out, rain starts to pour down, resulting in players and umpires rushing off the ground. You can't predict rain in Windies, can you? Hopefully, it will end soon.

Hafeez with the new ball!
Hafeez bowled four overs and gave away just 6 runs - yes, you're reading it right - in the second T20I, with three maiden overs. Come to think of it how incredible it is. With a left-hander in Chris Gayle on strike, Babar Azam has brought in Hafeez to bowl the first over but Fletcher hit the second ball for a six to make his intention clear. Hafeez pulls things back by conceding just 3 runs from the remaining five balls.

Both sides in support of Black Lives Matter
While Windies are taking a knee in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, Pakistan players have hands on their hearts to support the movement. Quite important this is to eradicate the racial division in this world. There is no place for racism and absolutely not in our sport.

DELAY
02:37 PM IST
Toss Delayed once again!
The first T20I was abandoned due to rain after Windies batted in the shortened encounter. The second T20I yesterday was halted in patches due to rain delay and now the third T20I is suffering the same fate. According to the latest update, it's just started to rain and the toss is delayed. Till then, don't be deceived by our temporary cover image. I shall keep you updated!

Advantage pacers?
While the pacers picked up nine out of the 10 wickets (excluding run-outs) in the first T20I, it was the spinners who kept the runs down. In fact, the wicket of Andre Fletcher, picked up by Mohammad Hafeez was the only wicket that was picked up by a spinner in the match.
However, with two games in a row, there could be some more wear and tear on the track, which could pave way for the spinners to have a little more of the wicket share. Hence, including Hafeez, we have gone for two more wicket-taking spinners in Hayden Walsh and Akeal Hosein in our team, even though they did not pick up a single wicket between them in the previous game.
Historically, however, the Providence has favoured the pacers with a percentage of 62-38 split in T20Is. While the pacers have picked up a wicket every 19 runs and 16.1 balls apart, the corresponding numbers for the spinners happen to be 22.7 and 21.2 respectively.

Welcome to our Live Coverage!
Good Evening and Welcome to Cricket.com’s live coverage of the third T20I between Pakistan and West Indies, live from Providence Stadium, Guyana. I am Bastab K Parida, your host for the evening, and will be taking you through all the updates of the 3rd T20I.
As Pakistan edged West Indies in a closely fought contest on Saturday (July 31) by seven runs, the hosts will look to bounce back quickly. Pakistan have dominated the two-time T20 World champions, having won 12 out of the 16 matches, while West Indies have won just thrice. In the last five encounters, Pakistan have won four, with one match – the first T20I in Barbados – yielding no result. In fact, the last time West Indies beat Pakistan was in the 2014 World T20 in Mirpur. Since then, Pakistan have won 12 T20Is against West Indies, which includes 10 wins in a row.
