What are the international games lined up for the rest of 2024?

Here is a list of all the men’s bilateral series, involving big teams, that will be played this year and at the start of 2025

The 2024 T20 World Cup is over, and it’s time to focus on the upcoming bilateral series. There’s still going to be enough T20Is but the focus will largely be on the other two formats, keeping the 2025 Champions Trophy and 2023-25 World Test Championship in mind.

Here is the list of all the men’s bilateral series, involving big teams, that will be played this year and at the start of 2025.

India tour of Zimbabwe 

Five T20Is - (July 6-14)

1st T20I, Harare - July 6 

2nd T20I, Harare - July 7 

3rd T20I, Harare - July 10 

4th T20I, Harare - July 13 

5th T20I, Harare - July 14 

India, who won the 2024 T20WC, have sent a young squad to Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe have left out Ryan Burl, Joylord Gumbie, Ainsley Ndlovu, Craig Ervine and Sean Williams and named Belgium-born Antum Naqvi in their squad.

West Indies tour of England 

Three Tests - (July 10-30)

1st Test, Lord’s - July 10-14

2nd Test, Trent Bridge - July 18-22

3rd Test, Edgbaston - July 26-30

England’s first Test against the West Indies at Lord's will be James Anderson’s last Test. England have named Surrey wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith and Nottinghamshire pacer Dillon Pennington in their squad.

England are currently at the bottom of the WTC points table, having won only three of their 10 games so far in this cycle. Meanwhile, the West Indies are at No. 7, with only one win in their four encounters. 

Zimbabwe tour of Ireland 

Only Test, Belfast - July 25-29

Ireland are set to play their ninth Test, having played their last against Afghanistan in February this year. Zimbabwe too haven’t played a Test for almost 17 months. 

India tour of Sri Lanka 

Three ODIs and three T20Is

India are supposed to travel to Sri Lanka for three ODIs and as many T20Is in the last part of July but the schedule hasn’t been announced yet. 

South Africa tour of West Indies 

Two Tests and three T20Is - (August 7-27)

1st Test, Trinidad -  August 7-11

2nd Test, Guyana - August 15-19

1st T20I, Trinidad - August 23

2nd T20I, Trinidad - August 24

3rd T20I, Trinidad - August 27

South Africa finished as the runners-up in the 2024T20WC but are languishing at No. 7 on the WTC points table. They have only played four Tests so far in this cycle and lost three of them. 

Sri Lanka tour of England 

Three Tests - (August 21 - September 10)

1st Test, Manchester - August 21-25

2nd Test, Lord’s - August 29 - September 2

3rd Test, Kennington Oval - September 6-10

If Sri Lanka can defeat England, they will have a good chance of qualifying for the finale of the WTC 2023-25. They have won two and lost two in this cycle.

Australia tour of Scotland

Three ODIs (September 4-7)

1st ODI, Edinburgh - September 4

2nd ODI, Edinburgh - September 6

3rd ODI, Edinburgh - September 7

Australia playing a bilateral series against an associate nation; now, that's something you don't see often.

Three T20Is and five ODIs - (September 11-29)

1st T20I, Southampton - September 11

2nd T20I, Cardiff - September 13

3rd T20I, Manchester - September 15

1st ODI, Nottingham - September 19

2nd ODI, Leeds - September 21

3rd ODI, Chester-le-Street - September 24

4th ODI, Lord’s - September 27

Bangladesh tour of India 

Two Tests and three T20Is - (September 19 - October 12)

1st Test, Chennai - September 19-23

2nd Test, Kanpur -  September 27 - October 1

1st T20I, Dharamsala - October 6

2nd T20I, Delhi - October 9

3rd T20I, Hyderabad - October 12

India, who are currently at the top of the WTC points table, will commence their home Test season against Bangladesh. Following the two-match Test series, the two teams will also be involved in a three-match T20I series.

Ireland v South Africa in UAE

1st T20I, Abu Dhabi - September 27

2nd T20I, Abu Dhabi - September 29

1st ODI, Abu Dhabi - October 2

New Zealand tour of India 

Three Tests - (October 16 - November 5)

1st Test, Bengaluru - October 16-20

2nd Test, Pune - October 24-28

3rd Test, Mumbai - November 1-5

The last time New Zealand toured India in 2021, they lost the two-match series 0-1.

England tour of West Indies 

Three ODIs and five T20Is - (October 31 - November 17)

1st ODI, Antigua - October 31

2nd ODI, Antigua - November 2

3rd ODI, Barbados - November 6

1st T20I, Barbados - November 9

2nd T20I, Barbados - November 10

3rd T20I, St Lucia - November 14

4th T20I, St Lucia - November 16

5th T20I, St Lucia - November 17

Pakistan tour of Australia
