Stats: Sneh Rana bowls India to victory in Chennai Test

It was a Test which lasted till the last hour of the last session of the last day. It was only natural that records broke left, right and centre

The Indian women have continued their Test match streak at home by winning the Chennai Test. However, it wasn’t as easy as the last two wins. India would have thought that after scoring 603 runs in their first innings, the rest of the Test would be a walk in the park.

However, the South African women ground out India for two and a half days on the field and made India bat again despite being 337 runs behind and following on after the first innings.

Here are all the essential stats from this Test, which saw many records breath their last:

> India became the first women’s team to win four Test matches in a row at home.

The 525 runs scored by India on Day 1 of the Test is the highest total achieved by any Test-playing team (men or women).

The second highest is 509/9, scored by the Sri Lankan men’s team in Colombo, 2002.

> India have now won their 8th Test match overall, and 5th at home. Five of those wins have come in the last seven Tests.
