Kyle Phillip suspended from bowling in international cricket

The right-arm pacer will not be allowed to bowl till he undergoes a reassessment with a modified action

United States of America were dealt with a severe blow in their loss to West Indies on the opening day of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers as Kyle Phillip has been suspended from bowling in international cricket.

The match officials reported his action to be illegal after the first game against the Windies on June 18, where he returned with figures of 3 for 59 in USA's 39-run defeat.

The Event Panel reviewed match footage and came to the conclusion that the 26-year-old indeed has an illegal action. In accordance with Article 6.7, he is suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect.

While he featured in USA's next league game against Nepal, he was dropped from the playing XI for their third game against the Netherlands, with star bowler Ali Khan returning to the side.

Phillip's suspension shall remain in place until he reassesses his modified action, which the panel concludes as legal.
