Sharjah Warriors have appointed JP Duminy as their head coach for the third edition of the International League T20 (ILT20). The 40-year-old is currently the batting coach of South Africa’s white-ball side.
Duminy played 46 Tests, 199 ODIs, and 81 T20Is for the Proteas. The former South Africa all-rounder takes over from Johan Botha, who was the Warriors' head coach last season.
Since retirement, Duminy has worked with South African domestic side Boland Rocks. He was also Paarl Royals’ head coach in the first season of the SA20.
"I am delighted to take up the challenge of being the head coach with the Sharjah Warriors. This is an excellent set-up, which is vibrant and full of optimism and ideas for the upcoming season,” said Duminy.
"We are looking forward to building a strong squad for this year, and we are excited to see what lies in store for us."
