A New treasurer will also be named at the Special General Meeting (SGM) in Mumbai next month

Jay Shah's replacemement as BCCI's secretary will be announced during the Special General Meeting (SGM) on January 12, 2025 in Mumbai, according to a report on PTI. Shah's position has been vacant ever since he took charge as the ICC Chairman on December 1

A new treasure is also expected to be named after Ashish Shelar was sworn in as a cabinet minister in the recently formed Maharashtra government. According to the Lodha committee reforms, one person cannot hold two positions simultaneously.  Shah was the BCCI secretary for fove years from 2019, before taking over as the youngest ever ICC chief. 

According to the BCCI constitution, any vacant position must be filled within 45 days by calling an SGM meeting. "Yes, after the Apex Council Meeting on Thursday, state units were sent a notification about the date of the SGM, which is January 12 at the BCCI headquarters," a state association president told PTI.

Assam's Devajit Saikia is currently the interim BCCI secretary, but the treasurer's position is still vacant.

Soon after Shah's elevation as the ICC chief a couple of names - Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley and Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) secretary Anil Patel - were the ones tipped to take over as the secretary. However, a report o News18 claims that Patel is the "dark horse" for the position.
