CSK Will Beat RCB If They Keep Kohli, Patidar Quiet: Stephen Fleming

RCB have not beaten CSK at Chepauk since 2008

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to clash at the Chepauk on March 28 (Friday). CSK have had the better of RCB at Chepauk, having won every time there since losing in 2008.

However, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming is not dwelling on the past and is focused on the match ahead. He believes keeping Virat Kohli and RCB skipper Rajat Patidar is going to be key.

“It's really hard to comment after just one game. The RCB and CSK from last year is quite different. We don't look into past performances,” Fleming said ahead of the clash.

“Certainly, looking at their team, Kohli is a big part of it. But they have strength in their team, like most franchises have. The competition is pretty even this year. If we keep him [Kohli] and Patidar quiet, then it will help us to win."

Both RCB and CSK got off to winning starts in the IPL 2025 opener. CSK beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by four wickets, while RCB started off their campaign with a comprehensive seven-wicket victory over defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
