Follow UsFollowing last year's trend, multiple reports have suggested that the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction could take place in the Middle East. Last year, the IPL Auction took place at the Coca-Cola Arena, and it is likely to be hosted either in Dubai or Abu Dhabi this year.
According to a Sportstar report, Muscat and Doha are the other venues that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering as a backup to Dubai. The same publication also indicated that November 16-17 or December 15-20 as the two tentative windows where BCCI is hoping to host the mega event.
“The dates under consideration are either around November 16-17 or sometime between December 15 and 20. The BCCI operations team is currently evaluating these options,” Sportstar quoted a source close to the scheme of things.
“The BCCI is exploring various options, and the franchises will be informed in due course about the final venue,” the report added.
The report also reckoned that the second week of October could be the last date for the franchises to account for their retention.
