Bowling Average 1.66 - KKR Add “Another Bowler” Ahead Of RCB Clash

Kolkata Knight Riders already have Sunil Narine, Varun Chakaravarthy and Moeen Ali in their squad for IPL 2025

Sunil Narine, Varun Chakaravarthy and Moeen Ali - Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) already have a world-class spin unit, and have now added another spinner to their squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. We are talking about Rinku Singh.

In a video posted by KKR on their social media handles, Rinku was seen bowling off-spin in one of the training sessions ahead of KKR’s first game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens on March 22 (Saturday).

Rinku hasn’t bowled a single delivery in the IPL, but has an insane record in two overs he has bowled for India across the two white-ball formats.

Rinku bowled one over against South Africa in Gqeberha and dismissed Rassie van der Dussen. Mind you, the Proteas lost only two wickets in that match and one of those came from Rinku.

Even in a T20I against Sri Lanka on a spin-friendly Pallekele surface, Rinku bowled one over and dismissed Kusal Perera and Ramesh Mendis.

Sri Lanka needed nine runs in two overs and that’s when Rinku came to bowl the 19th over. He only conceded three and runs and took two wickets. The match eventually went down to the Super Over, and India won the game out of nowhere.

Overall, Rinku has a bowling average of 1.66 in international cricket.

Rinku was retained by KKR for INR 13 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
