Ramandeep Singh fined for breaching code of conduct in MI clash

In an official statement, the IPL confirmed that the KKR player admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction

Kolkata Knight Riders’ Ramandeep Singh has been fined 20% of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens on May 11 (Saturday).

It is unclear which incident led to Ramandeep getting slapped with a fine, but the 27-year-old all-rounder is believed to have committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.20 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

In an official statement, the IPL confirmed that the KKR player admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding.

Ramandeep is the second KKR player this season, after Harshit Rana, to be fined for disciplinary reasons. Two weeks ago, Rana was fined 100% of his match fees and was suspended for one game for committing a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL's Code of Conduct in the clash against Delhi Capitals (DC).

The punishment aside, the MI clash was a fruitful one for Ramandeep, who played an important cameo with the bat (17* off 8 balls) and then took the massive catch that helped KKR dismiss Suryakumar Yadav.
