Alyssa Healy's problems continue to mount as the Australian skipper has lost yet another battle to injury and has had to pull out of Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024-25 midway through the competition. The 34-year-old's season has been ended by a knee injury.
The Australian captain, who missed out on playing the semi-final of the Women’s T20 World Cup where the Australian team lost to South Africa, played in only four of the seven games that the Sixers have so far been part of in the league.
With this injury, the 34-year-old is now under a lot of pressure to get back to her best shape to be fit for the ODI series against India with the first ODI starting December 5th in Brisbane.
If she does not recover in the next month, the Aussie skipper would miss the three-match ODI series against T20 World Cup champions New Zealand as well. However, the multi-format Women's Ashes would be on her mind more than anything else. It starts on January 12th.
In the ongoing WBBL season, Healy could score only 20 runs with 11 being her highest in four matches.
