Haryana's Yashvardhan Dalal breaks Sameer Rizvi's record

The opening batter is the first to breach the 400-run mark in the CK Nayudu Trophy

Haryana opening batter Yashvardhan Dalal smashed a record 428* against Mumbai in the Under-23 CK Nayudu Trophy on November 9 (Saturday) to register the highest individual score in the competition. By doing so, he broke Sameer Rizvi's record, which was 312 off 266 balls in the four-day competition against Saurashtra last season.

Dalal also became the first batter to breach the 400-run mark in the tournament since it came into existence in 1973-74. Uttar Pradesh batter Rizvi was snapped up by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction for INR 8.4 crore from a base price of 20 lakh.

Coming back to Dalal, he scored 4 against Madhya Prades and followed that up with 23 and 67. Riding on his quadruple century, Haryana were able to declare at 742/8 on the third morning. He put on 410 for the first wicket with Arsh Ranga, who helped himself to 151.

Dalal's innings was glittered with 46 fours and 12 sixes.
