Hanuma Vihari amongst seven Indian cricketers to play in DPL

Abhimanyu Easwaran, Parvez Rasool, Baba Aparajith, Ashok Menaria, Chirag Jani and Gurinder Singh are the other cricketers from India

Batter Hanuma Vihari and six other Indian cricketers will take part in the upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL) season, which is Bangladesh's only List A competition.

The other Indian cricketers include Abhimanyu Easwaran, Parvez Rasool, Baba Aparajith, Ashok Menaria, Chirag Jani and Gurinder Singh, all of whom went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction.

Vihari was part of the Indian side that blanked Sri Lanka 2-0 in the recently-concluded Test series. Vihari will head home to Hyderabad for a short break before he heads to Bangladesh to join Abahani Limited later this week, according to ESPNCricinfo.

Vihari will miss the first three matches of the tournament, which kick-started today (March 15) with Najibullah Zadran filling in for him. Bengal captain Abhimanyu Easwaran who is knocking on the doors of the Indian team will turn up for Prime Bank.

Rasool will join Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi, Aparajith to Rupganj Tigers, Menaria to Khelaghar, Jani to Legends of Rupganj, and Gurinder for Gazi Group Cricketers. Vihari, Easwaran, Aparajith, Menaria and Rasool were previously part of the tournament before Covid-19 wreaked havoc.

Indian players like Dinesh Karthik, Manoj Tiwary and Yusuf Pathan have previously played in the tournament as well.
