Green aims to replicate Rohit's calmness in the WTC final

The all-rounder also shared his learnings from his maiden stint with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL and playing under the Indian skipper

For the last two months, Cameron Green has shared the dressing room with Rohit Sharma and played under his astute leadership in his maiden stint in the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians.

The Aussie all-rounder praised his Mumbai skipper for guiding him through the tournament and hopes to replicate the learning in the summit clash of the World Test Championship.

Ahead of the final between Australia and India at the Oval starting June 7, Green shared insights on his experience of playing in the league and sharing the dressing room with Rohit.

"The calmness when he has out in the middle is so evident. He's obviously been there and done that for ten years. To be out there with him and just talk through a situation was awesome," he said in a conversation with ICC.

"My role was trying to be aggressive, and then he obviously showed ways to go about it, whether it was attacking spin, attacking pace, kind of picking your bowler in a way."

After his stint with the five-time champions, where he scored his maiden century in the tournament, Green is back on the field with the Aussie side in their bid to win the mace.

Australia won 11 out of their 19 Test matches in the WTC cycle, and Green believes it is a massive moment for Australian cricket as they set foot in London for the marquee clash.

However, the all-rounder pointed out one threat in opposition ranks who can spoil the Aussie party and said, "Virat Kohli. I think he always tries to be the man to stand up in big moments,"

"A World Test Championship is obviously a massive moment, so I look forward to that. There is nothing like Test cricket when you're kind of out in the middle. Obviously, your nerves are running really high. I think the best players are the best ones that are able to handle that."

After the final of the WTC, Australia will be involved in a riveting Ashes series in England starting from June 16 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
