Goa batters Kashyap Bakhale (300*) and Snehal Kauthankar (314) scripted history as they registered the highest partnership in Ranji Trophy history. The duo put on 606 off 448 for the third wicket against Arunachal Pradesh at the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Academy in Povorim on November 14 (Thursday).
They beat the unbeaten 594 partnership between Maharashtra's Swapnil Gugale and Ankit Bawne against Delhi in 2016 and Sagar Jogiyani and Ravindra Jadeja, who put on 539 against Gujarat in 2012.
Earlier in the match, Arjun Tendulkar picked up five wickets for Goa to bundle Arunachal out for just 84. After that, thanks to the mammoth partnership between Bakhale and Kauthankar, Goa put up 727/2 declared to take a mammoth lead of 643 runs.
At tea on Day Two, Arunachal were reduced to 76/7, still trailing by 567 runs with just three wickets remaining.
Goa have won all four matches in the Plate group so far and is well-poised to make it five in five soon.
