Porel takes charge
Jake Fraser-McGurk got out for a duck but Abishek Porel (33-ball 58) covered up for his opening partner.
The left-hander smashed five fours and four maximums, helping DC score 73 runs in the powerplay. Porel got to his fifty off just 21 deliveries.
Stubbs is a beast at death
With just 63 runs in middle overs, it seemed DC would finish under 200 but that’s when Tristan Stubbs walked in and slammed 57* off 25 deliveries.
The South African was on 7 off 9 at one stage before hitting 50 off his next 16 deliveries. The Capitals eventually finished with 208/4.
Ishant wreaks havoc in powerplay
Ishant Sharma killed the game in the first 25 deliveries of the chase by getting the wickets of Quinton de Kock, KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda.
The Super Giants were reduced to 44/4, and there was no coming back from that position.
Pooran puts on a show
The match was all but over in the powerplay, but that was never going to stop Nicholas Pooran. The left-hander smoked 61 off 27 deliveries before falling to Mukesh Kumar.
Maiden T20 fifty for Arshad
It should have been an easy win for DC, but Arshad Khan refused to give up. The 25-year-old hit 58* off 33 deliveries but was left with a bit too much to do.
This was Arshad’s maiden T20 fifty, also making him the seventh batter to hit a fifty batting at No.8 or lower in the IPL.
