Afghanistan fast bower Fazalhaq Farooqi has been sent for scans ahead of the third and final One-Day International (ODI) against Bangladesh in Chattogram. Farooqi was sent to the hospital on Monday (July 10) for scans for his calf muscle issues. The pacer pulled out in the middle of his spell in the first and second games and Bangladesh.
In fact, he won the player of the match award for his spell of 3 for 24 in the first game and followed that up with another three-wicket haul in the second as Afghanistan went on to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
The victoires also marked Afghanistan's first-ever series win over their neighbours Bangladesh. The team management hope to have Farooqi fit and available for the third and final game of the series on Tuesday (July 11) at the same venue.
"He faced some problems day before yesterday [in the opening game] and as he was finding some problem we send him to the hospital [today]," an Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) offcial said, as per Cricbuzz.
After the third ODI, the teams will set off to Sylhet, where they will play a couple of T20 Internationals (T20I) on July 14 and 16.
