Gujarat Titans’ head coach Ashish Nehra said you can’t put a price tag on someone like Jasprit Bumrah. The right-arm pacer made his Indian Premier League debut for Mumbai Indians in 2013 and has been with them since then.
One of the best all-format bowlers of all time, Bumrah has won five titles with MI and has an insane record in the IPL. In 133 encounters, Bumrah has taken 165 wickets at an average of 22.52 and an economy rate of 7.3 despite bowling the majority of his overs in the powerplay and death.
Bumrah was MI’s top retention ahead of the 2025 mega auction and there’s no chance the franchise is ever going to let him go.
“Agar jassi auction main hote to kya kya hota? 520 crore ka bhi purse kam padhta. (If Jasprit Bumrah was a part of the auction then what would have happened? Even a purse of INR 520 crore wouldn’t have been enough)," Nehra jokingly remarked, whilst speaking to Star Sports.
Nehra also heaped heavy praise on Bumrah for the way he led India from the front in the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. The right-armer claimed eight wickets and played a major role in India’s 295-run victory against Australia.
“Bumrah has done it numerous times. He was leading the side as Rohit Sharma was not there, and he was under pressure. But Bumrah handled everything, and he should be praised for it," said Nehra.
“It was good to see a captain leading from the front knowing what happened in the previous series against New Zealand.”
