Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to keep Ebadot Hossain with the senior men’s T20I squad. The team will travel to India for a three-match series, starting with the first match on October 6 at Gwalior.
"Ebadot is going with the team as he will continue his rehabilitation program in India," Shariar Nafees, BCB’s operation-in-charge, was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
Tigers camp, a program that BCB developed to train players who are prospective national team contenders, will be shut down, and all the players in it will be allowed to join their first-class teams. That is why Ebadot was asked to move with the T20I squad.
"The Tiger management worked for three to three and half months. Ebadot is going with the team as Bayzid Bhai (national team physio) will assess him along with Nathan Kelly [trainer]," said Nafees.
After the first T20I in Gwalior, the teams will move to Delhi for the second game, and the series will end in Hyderabad on October 12. The entire duration, Ebadot, who last played for Bangladesh against Afghanistan in July 2023 before getting injured and missing the ODI World Cup, will be monitored by the management.
"He is not going to play, he is going there to further continue his rehabilitation program as per the request of the national team because there is the bowling coach and others who want to see him from close quarters," Nafees, who played 100 international games for Bangladesh, clarified.
