Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) rode on a magnificent 33-ball 63 by Shimron Hetmyer to register a 30-run victory in Match 21 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots (SKNP) in Guyana on September 20 (Friday). Hetmyer was well-supported by Romario Shepherd (34* off 22) in the end to take the Warriors to a competitive total.
Ashmead Nedd, who picked up two wickets in the first over, was the pick of the bowlers for SKNP. In reply, the Patriots never got going. Evin Lewis (49 off 46) tried his best to anchor the innings but found no support at the other end whatsoever. As a result, SKNP fell well short. Shamar Joseph was at his best on the night, finishing with 3/9, while Moeen Ali was at his miserly best, picking up 2/9 in his four overs.
With this win, the Warriors move to second in the points table, but the Warriors remain rooted to the bottom of the table, with just a solitary win in nine matches.
