Follow UsOn June 30 (Sunday), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a cash bonus of INR 125 crores for the national team. It comes in the aftermath of an impressive seven-run win over South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final in Barbados.
"I am pleased to announce prize money of INR 125 Crores for Team India for winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024," Shah posted on X.
"The team has showcased exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding achievement!” he added.
This will be in addition to the USD 2.45 million that India will receive after finishing as the winner. Not just that, the Men in Blue will also receive an additional $31,154 for every contest that they won during the group and the Super 8 stage.
Meanwhile, South Africa, who finished second, will receive a sum of USD 1.28 million, while the two semi-finalists, England and Afghanistan, will both receive USD 787,500.
